Hello! My name is Phoebe. My pronouns are they/them. I am an 18 year old queer artist living just outside Albuquerque, New Mexico. I work at a local coffee roaster, and when I'm not there I'm either making art or reading or spending time outside. I really love being outside so if I can read or make art while I'm outside it's just perfect.
Most of my inspiration comes from the natural world, but I'm also inspired by other artists. I particularly resonate with art that can totally draw me in and I forget where I am. I love looking at a piece and just being totally absorbed by it.
For this project that I'm working on with Relief Retailers, I began the process by first deciding where I wanted to donate. I decided on Albuquerque Pride because I think what they do is very important. They help spread awareness, they make it easy to access various resources for the LGBTQ+ community here. And of course they organize events to help bring joy and pride to the queer community in Albuquerque.
After deciding to donate to Albuquerque Pride, I decided that I also wanted some of the colors of the pride flag in the art itself. So, for one of the designs I did the pan pride flag, which has the yellow, pink, and blue. For the other design I did the pride flag which has the blue, purple, and pink.
I want to thank Relief Retailers for giving me this opportunity. This is the first time I've done anything like this and I'm so excited about it! Thank you all so much for your support!
